One of the many aspects of our business that we are proud of is that we only supply and install quality air conditioning brands in Newcastle that we trust. One of these brands is Mitsubishi. Most people know them as a car brand, so what is their history in the airconditioning industry? It’s actually one of their original core businesses! Here’s a quick peek into their rich (or cool?) history.

Where It All Began

Mr Iwasaki set up the Mitsubishi brand over one hundred and fifty years ago with a focus on the shipping industry. From there, the focus moved into coal mining and then into the building of aeroplanes! Next, in 1921 a very cutting-edge, market-leading company was started ‒ the Mitsubishi Electric Company. Remember, electricity was still a high-tech new invention. By 1925 less than fifty percent of the homes in the USA had electricity.

Moving as fast as this revolutionary energy supply, Mitsubishi quickly released its first electrical homeware product that same year! It was an elegant electrical desk fan and the market loved it.

Within ten years, Mitsubishi was making air coolers which, again, the market loved, but it was more focused on the commercial industry. Over the next thirty years, the company expanded its product range so that it could serve the residential market and Mitsubishi air conditioners were born.

The company started in Australia in 1967 and within a year, they were selling a wall-mounted air conditioner which helped establish their deep air conditioning roots in our country.

The Modern Mitsubishi

A decade later, Mr Slim Systems were launched and soon topped the best-selling air conditioning list of commercial, hospitality and retail businesses.

Their range has grown exponentially over the decades, with Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) arriving in the early 2000s for commercial use and their Energy Efficient Air Conditioning Systems launched in 2009.

Continuing with their marketing-leading innovation, Mitsubishi Electric received multiple awards for their Signature Series Air Conditioners that include Wi-Fi Air Conditioning Control that connects to smart devices.

Airconditioners For Australian Homes
